Team Mavin cycling ’Summit to City’ Challenge across three countries, raising funds for Youth Adventure Grant
Mavin Powercube is a proud founding partner of the Now on Earth Youth Adventure Grant (NOEYAG), an exciting collaboration which underscores our commitment to empowering young adults through adventure and exploration. As a part of this initiative, Mavin team members Chloe and Russ are cycling a “Summit to City Challenge,” a fundraising endeavour created by Chloe, supporting the NOEYAG.
The Summit to City Challenge – Mount Triglav to Mostar
In June this year, the Summit to City Challenge will see the small team undertake a rigorous, self-organised cycling and mountain climbing expedition. The route spans three countries and includes the ascent of three significant peaks, covering over 750km of cycling and, including mountain climbs on foot, over 10,000m of ascent.
The adventure kicks off with a two-day summit of Mount Triglav, the highest peak in the Julian Alps of Slovenia. Following this, the team will cycle through the Slovenian Alps, following the Soca river to cross into Croatia, and navigate a coastal route that includes island hopping to Split. Their second mountain challenge is Veliki Kabal, the tallest peak in the Mosor Massif. The journey continues into Bosnia and Herzegovina, culminating in the climb of Veliki Vran in Blidinje Nature Park. The final leg of their epic adventure will see them cycle to the historic city of Mostar, where they will cross the finish line at the iconic Stari Most bridge.
Supporting the Now on Earth Youth Adventure Grant
The challenge is entirely self-funded by the team, ensuring that all sponsorship proceeds go directly to the NOEYAG. Donations will be collected through the Crowdfunder on JustGiving.
The Now on Earth Youth Adventure Grant aims to support young adults (ages 18-24) who aspire to undertake adventurous expeditions, and in addition, the NOEYAG are hoping to raise enough to extend their grants to small charitable organisations that provide outdoor adventure experiences for youth. In a time when mental health challenges are increasingly prevalent among teens and young adults, the grant seeks to foster self-confidence, resilience, and fulfilment through the power of adventure. Through these small grants, they hope to make adventure accessible to more young people, enabling them to challenge themselves and grow in meaningful ways.
