Celebrating another Living Wage Employer anniversary
Mavin recently celebrated another year as a Living Wage Employer.
As part of Living Wage Week (November 11th-17th 2019) Mavin celebrated another year committed to everyone working at Mavin receiving a minimum hourly wage of £9.30 in the UK or £10.75 in London. Both rates are significantly higher than the government minimum for over 25s, which currently stands at £8.21 per hour.
The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 200,000 people and put over £1Billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers.
Director Russell Bartley commented: “We are proud to be part of the Living Wage movement and implement this increase in pay. It’s a win-win for us and not only helps our employees but also helps our business by improving motivation, and retaining and attracting a quality workforce.”
